Our systems require the filing of a unique ten (10) digit item number with each commodity description. Each commodity rate is designated by its Commodity Item No. plus an additional four (4) digits which identify the rate. This system results in a fourteen digit number for every rate filing, which is compatible with FMC-ATFI compliant systems.
We have programmed our systems to print all commodity rates in Tariff Section 4, and adopted the commodity item numbers as tariff page numbers in this section. Additionally, a three (3) digit page number extension is provided to accommodate commodity items with more rates than can be printed on a single page. Please note the COMMODITY:, TRI number, and Page on the attached sample rate page. To repeat, in the new page format Commodity Item Numbers are used as Page Numbers, and TLI (tariff line item) Numbers are printed on the page along the right-hand margin. For the convenience of tariff users, we continue to index commodities alphabetically. These are organized in Tariff Section 1. A sample Commodity Index page is attached.
If you have any questions about your tariffs, or if you believe you may have missed some correction pages, please do not hesitate to contact us here at Distribution-Publications. We will be happy to assist you.
