The full terms and conditions of each carrier's bill of lading must be published
in its FMC tariff. A registration or license application can be filed with FMC
without a bill of lading, but a tariff can not be published with the complete terms and
conditions of the bill of lading. These are essential to each carrier's operations and
tariff. NVOCCs must issue bills "as carrier" as forwarder bills of lading are not allowed
by FMC.
If you do not yet have a b/l, DPI can suggest terms and conditions, however,
we are not attorneys, and we can not give legal advice. We can provide the
attached b/l in a format suitable for photocopying or printing in MS-Word
format, but for high quality printing we can refer you to a qualified printer
in the USA.
A sample long form bill of lading is attached.
DPI’s library contains more than 200 different bills of lading, including
bill of ladings approved by:
- Thru Transport Club
- FIATA
- Japan International Freight
- Forwarders Association (JIFFA)
- British International Freight Forwarders Association (BIFFA)
- Korea International Freight Forwarders Association (KIFFA)
